8/14/22 – 8/18/22 – Protect the Oceans Build and Rally

Join us for an art build at our studio! We will be getting ready for a NYC Global rally and dance party for the oceans – featuring activism, storytelling, fishy drag, iconic art by NYC artists, and collective joy for the ocean. (Join Virtually or In-Person!)

We must protect at least 30% of the world’s oceans by 2030.
To make this happen we need the IGC5 to adopt a strong Ocean Treaty in August! The Global Ocean Treaty is an international agreement – currently under negotiation by governments at the UN – that would make it possible to properly protect the high seas from industrial fishing and other destructive human activities.
That’s why on August 18th, we are showing up outside the UN HQ with a wave of people power to rally, celebrate, march, and demand world governments make history for the oceans. Global Ocean Treaty Now!
The Art Build:
Build will be from Sunday August 14th thru Wednesday August 17th from 12pm – 8pm everyday.  We will make large scale art for the rally at our studio located at 25 12th street in Gowanus, Brooklyn. Building Stories is an art studio space located in the same building as BIG reuse, next to Lowes parking lot.  Go through the double doors under the Retro Fitness sign. Go all the way to the end of the hallway, through the red double doors, take a right and follow that long hallway all the way until the end and that is our studio. The studio has no real ventilation, we will be masking, testing, and you must be fully vaccinated to enter the space.  You can text Joe at 646-648-2138 if you have trouble finding the door OR  you can email us at swilson512@gmail.com with any other questions.
