Boxcutter Presents: Joan of Arc! A Night of Performances Inspired by the Patron Saint of Revolution.

New music and puppet shows with Ali Dineen, our very own musical director,  and Lil Lamberta of All the Saints Theater Company (Richmond, VA.), our dear comrade-in-cardboard.

ACT 1: The Passion of Joan of Arc (an excerpt from the 1928 silent French film based on the trial of Joan of Arc, directed by Carl Theodor Dreyer, starring Renée Jeanne Falconettias)

With live score by Sunder Ganglani (viola), Eleonore Weill (recorder/hurdy gurdy) and Ali Dineen (accordion/keyboard).

ACT 2: Ali Dineen presents:  Saint Joan

Saint Joan, a new work weaving personal history with the story of Joan of Arc, with large illustrations, original songs and a small choral ensemble. Drawing upon the work of feminist scholar Sylvia Federici, transgender warrior Leslie Feinberg, and Ali’s own history, this show will begin to tell the story of Joan’s life, beginning with her being visited by guiding angels. Featuring singers Amy Carrigan, Gregory Corbino, Sunder Ganglani and Eleonore Weill.

ACT 3:  Lil Lamberta (All The Saints Theater Company, Richmond VA) Presents: “The True Afterlife of Joan”, in three parts, opening with the Popul Vu to show the people how hell landed on Earth to create the world in which Joan was born.

Doors at 7:00, show at 7:30
