All the way from the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, Boxcutter brings you a tradition we learned in that magical land. What do you get when you curate an evening of “too-short-to-suck” performances by a gaggle of broke puppeteers? You might say a “puppet slam,” and you might not be wrong… but we refer to it by its country name, the legendary “Cafe Des Cheap Artistes!”
It will also be a Fundraiser for the Boxcutter Collective to send them into 2023 with a little something to launch all of their new ambitious projects. Come watch with amazement as Boxcutter & friends try to levitate their bank account and pay their studio rent in 2023!
And it’s a telethon because folks will be able to watch from home! (via the internets)
And it’s an end of year extravaganza so we can all throw down!
And because we are optimists – The theme is Utopia
If you have a short (3 minutes or less) puppet performance you’d like to perform at the cafe, or if you have questions please email swilson512@gmail.com by December 9th. You do not have to have all of the details of your show but let us know right away if you think you want a slot. OR… Buy a ticket to the show! You can get a ticket anywhere from $0 to $100 to help us keep going through the next year!
